Itinerary Details

Your tour will begin after you arrive at Cochin Airport. You will meet our tour representative waiting for you outside the airport. After an introduction, you will head towards Kumarakom which is located at 53 km and it will take 1.5 hours to reach there. You will be escorted to the hotel and after completing the check-in at the hotel you can relax. Kumarakom is dotted with lush greenery and tranquil surroundings. It is home to a variety of migratory birds and numerous exotic species of flora and fauna.

The rest of the day is at your leisure. You can stroll around the streets of Kumarakom. You can also explore the local market and buy some souvenirs for your loved ones.

Return to the hotel in the evening and have a sumptuous dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel in Cochin.

On the 2nd day of the tour, savor the breakfast and then embark on the sightseeing tour of the Kumarakom. You can also indulge in fun activities such as swimming and other water sports. During the sightseeing tour, you will visit the Vaikom Mahadeva Temple which is dedicated to Rishi Parshuram. He was the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This temple along with Ettumanoor Siva Temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva is one of the temples which hold reverence for Shaivites and Vaishnavites.

Later in the afternoon, you will board the sunset cruise. You will cruise in the Vembanad Lake which is the largest lake in Kerala. This lake is a treat for the eyes and soul. It is a paradise for nature lovers and you will get an opportunity to experience the enchanting beauty of this majestic place during the cruise. You will also spot the exotic species of migratory birds.

Later in the evening return to the hotel. Overnight in Kumarakom.

Wake up early and start your day by visiting the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary which is also renowned as the Vembanad Bird Sanctuary. Embark on the bird watching safari and spot some of the exotic species of the birds. Spread over a sprawling area of 14 acres of land. You can choose to explore the sanctuary by opting for a boat ride. During the ride, you will be able to spot over 100 species of avifauna including kingfisher, Indian Darter, herons, owl, cuckoo, steppe eagle, and more.

After enjoying the jungle safari, you will hit the road to Alleppey. It is one of the renowned backwater destinations and is being thrived by tourists from all over the world. Upon your arrival, you will board the houseboat which is traditionally known as Kettuvallam. The houseboat will be well-equipped with all the modern amenities and it will take you to Punnamada Lake which is one of the popular tourist attractions. You can spot migratory birds here during the cruising.

On day 4 of the Alleppey backwater tour, you can check out from the houseboat and head towards Kovalam. Upon your arrival at Kovalam, you can check-in at the selected hotel and take rest.
