Itinerary Details

Start your Chardham yatra by helicopter from the Sahastradhara helipad in Dehradun. Here you will be greeted by our tour representative and the pilot who will brief you about the trip.

Board the helicopter at 7.00 am for a 45-minute flight to Kharsali, which is the helipad at Yamunotri. Here you will be welcomed by the Heritage Aviation (HA) ground staff who will help take your luggage to your hotel in Kharsali.

After a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel, brace yourself for the 6 km trek to the Yamunotri temple. Situated at about 3,293 meters above the sea level, Yamunotri Dham stands proudly nearby mighty mountain peaks, glaciers and gushing waters of River Yamuna. The holy river is the second most sacred river of India. It originates from the Yamunotri which makes it one of the pilgrimage sites in India and an important part of the Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand.

There are also the thermal springs at Janki Chatti which lies 7 km away from here. The town is a center of attraction for the pilgrims traveling to Yamunotri. Champasar glacier is another attraction that lies nearby. It is the actual source and is inaccessible. Hence, puja is offered at the temple itself.

After worshipping, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

The next highlight of the Chardham tour package by helicopter is a visit to the Gangotri temple. After breakfast, board the helicopter from the Yamunotri helipad at 7:45 am to reach the Harsil Helipad by 8:30 am. Harsil is one of the most beautiful and picturesque valleys in Uttarakhand and also known as 'Mini Switzerland of India'. The Gangotri Dham lies at a distance of approx. 22kms from the Harsil helipad and if you travel by road it takes approx. 50 mins.

Harsil is an unspoiled and hidden jewel situated on the banks of Bhagirathi River at an elevation of 2620 meters above sea level. This picturesque village has become popular recently amongst travel enthusiasts and nature lovers. According to the legend, Bhagirathi River is the source stream of the Ganga River.

Pay homage at Gangotri temple, the highest temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga. The quaint white temple is enclosed by Deodar, pines and the Greater Himalayas. After Darshan, head back to the hotel in the afternoon. Complete the check-in formalities, eat your lunch and relax for a while. Spend the evening at leisure or embark on a walk to the nearby villages. There you can shop for some of the finest woolens.

Spend the night at the hotel.

After breakfast depart from the Harsil helipad at 9.00 am. You have to change the helicopter at Guptkashi as per the government rules. From there, you will head towards Kedarnath. There will be another helicopter waiting for you to board it. You will land at Kedarnath helipad by 10.00 am approx.

Kedarnath is a small town in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Located in the Himalayas, it is the remotest pilgrimage site of the Chardham Yatra. Situated at a height of about 3,583 m (11,755 ft) above the sea level near Chorabari Glacier, the source of river Mandakini, the town is flanked by snow-capped peaks.

The Kedarnath temple is the holy shrine in India and houses one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple is situated at a distance of about 500 m from the helipad and reaching there will take about 15 minutes. Lakhs of devotees visit the Kedarnath temple every year due to its religious significance and sanctity. The present Kedarnath Temple is believed to be re-constructed by Adi Shankaracharya. The original one was built by the Pandavas thousand years ago from enormous stone slabs over a large rectangular dais.

Afterward, visit the ancient Triyuginarayan temple. The ancient temple is dedicated to god Vishnu. Its fame is credited to the legend of Lord Shiva's marriage with goddess Parvati. It was witnessed by Lord Vishnu at this venue and thus, the shrine is a popular pilgrimage center. The perpetual fire is the center of attraction of this temple. The flame is said to be burning from the times of the divine marriage. Hence, the temple is also called as the Akhand Dhuni temple.

Stay overnight at Kedarnath.

On day 4 of Chardham Yatra by helicopter, wake up early in the morning at 4 am to attend the Rudra Abhishek at the Kedarnath temple. After the Rudra Abhishek ceremony, rest for a while at the hotel. Eat your breakfast and depart from Kedarnath. The helicopter will take you to Guptkashi helipad. From there, you again have to change the helicopter. At about 10:15 am board the helicopter and land at the Badrinath helipad by 11:00 am. From here, you will be taken to the hotel. Complete the check-in formalities, freshen up and visit the Badrinath temple.

The Badrinath Temple is the major lure in the town. According to the legends, Adi Shankaracharya found a black stone image of Lord Badrinarayan in the Alaknanda River. It was made of Saligram stone. He originally preserved it inside a cave near the Tapt Kund hot springs. In the 16th-century, the King of Garhwal shifted the murti within the present temple. The temple is about 50 ft (15 m) tall with a small cupola at the top and is covered with a gold gilt roof. The front is constructed of stone with arched windows.

Overnight stay in Badrinath.

Wake up early at 4 am in the morning to attend the special Maha Abhishek Pooja. Sit in the core part of the temple and watch the Shringaar rituals of the deity. The pooja gets complete in two hours. Return to the hotel and eat your breakfast.

At 11:30 am, board the helicopter and depart from the Badrinath helipad. You will arrive at the Sahastradhara helipad in Dehradun at 12:30 pm. This marks the end of the tour.
